We look at how active people are in Hillingdon, where the proportion of children and adults spending more than three hours a week on physical activity is worse when compared to the England average.


How active are we in Hillingdon?

The 2017 Health Profile for Hillingdon suggests that 51.5 percent of adults in Hillingdon spend more than 2.5 hours per week on physical activity. This is lower than the England average (57 percent) but higher than London (44.8 percent).

The Sport England Active People survey has been replaced with the Active Lives survey. Collection of data for our Active Lives Survey began in November 2015 and runs for an initial period of five years. The national Sport England Active People survey analyses in detail participation in sport by adults - surveys take place twice a year with the most recent results coming from the were published in October 2017.

A measure of activity is the percentage of adults (age 16 and over) who are active for at least 150 minutes a week. In Hillingdon, this percentage has risen from 59.1 percent in 2015 to 2016 report to 59.9 percent in the May 2016/17 report.
