Golf maintenance updates

Keeping you up to date with our maintenance programmes for Haste Hill and Uxbridge public golf courses.

Spring Renovations Fortnight - 20 April to 1 May 2020

As part of our ongoing courses maintenance programme, we will be carrying out extensive renovation work to the greens at Haste Hill and Uxbridge Public Golf Courses.

Throughout the two week period, there will be intensive maintenance activity on the greens. This will involve specialist pedestrian aeration equipment, core collection, top-dressing and rolling; the bulk of which will be operational during the times of course closures.

The scheduled works will include:

  • Scarification for thatch and moss removal
  • Hollow coring to remove thatch and improve surface drainage and oxygenate (soil/air exchange)
  • Top dressing to all surfaces to restore surface levels, improve surface drainage and improve the soil growing medium
  • Rolling with a turf iron to restore surface levels

These works will be carried out by the Golf Hillingdon greenkeeping team and the operations will be disruptive to golf at times. Temporary greens may be in play from time-to-time to ensure that the work is continuous and is completed as expediently as possible.

We ask that our customers be understanding during this renovation period and give priority to all greenkeeping staff.

Course closures (subject to favourable weather conditions):

Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 April - Haste Hill GC

Tuesday 28 and Wednesday 29 April - Uxbridge GC

These vital works are very necessary to ensure the best possible playing surfaces going into the summer. We thank you for your cooperation and understanding in helping us achieve these improved conditions.
