Residents invited to make art in the park

News release: 10/7/18 - Budding artists of all ages are being encouraged to come along to a series of free park-based creative art sessions throughout the summer.

Art in the park 2

'Art in the Park' will take place in green spaces across Hillingdon, beginning at the Gravel Pits in Northwood on Sunday 15 July and ending at Manor Farm in Ruislip on Saturday 8 September.

A full list of dates, times and locations, can be found at:

Now in its second year, the council's 'Art in the Park' programme gives residents the chance to draw, paint or sculpt 'al fresco' while using some of the borough's award-winning Green Flag parks as inspiration.

All materials, such a paint, crayons and paper, are provided for free on a first come, first served basis.

Each session lasts for two hours and participants are able to take their art away with them.

Councillor Richard Lewis, Cabinet Member for Central Services, Culture and Heritage, said: "Art in the Park is the perfect way to enjoy our wonderful green spaces during the summer months. Whether you're seasoned artist or a novice, I encourage you to come along and let the creative juices flow!"

The sessions are open to everyone and no booking is required.

Forty spaces are available for each event, so residents are advised to arrive early to avoid disappointment.
