What has happened so far and key dates

Since summer 2020, we have been consulting with residents about the future of their estate.

Residents vote 'yes' for redevelopment

Following consultation in 2020, we began the new year preparing for a resident ballot to decide on the future of the estate.

Thank you to every resident who got involved with the consultation and ballot. We were delighted to see that so many of those that were eligible to vote did, but also appreciate the time all residents have given to the process.

94% of residents voted YES for redevelopment

The ballot took place in spring 2021, with 94% of residents who voted, voting YES for redevelopment. This was fantastic news and a clear show of support for making the estate a better and safer place to live for all residents.

Summer and autumn consultations

Following the ballot result, we have continued to meet with both residents and the wider community to continue developing a shared vision for the future of the estate.

In July 2021, we hosted a design workshop for residents, to get their views on the layouts for the new homes, building materials, and communal facilities. We also introduced the master plan to members of the wider community.

We have since continued to collect feedback at further workshops and public exhibitions in October and November, in the lead up to submitting a planning application.

Planning Consent & Development Partner Selected

In September, we announced the good news that we had obtained planning consent for the scheme that residents were consulted on.  We also entered into contract with Higgins Partnerships to build new homes for the residents of the Estate.  Construction will take place in three phases and works have started on site.

Further Design Consultation

Higgins Partnerships has looked in detail at the new scheme and have some ideas to enhance the design and speed up the delivery of homes.  These were shared with residents and the wider community at a design session in January 2023, where useful comments from residents were received.
