Planning search guide

A guide to help you view all information and how to comment on a planning application.

You can view the details and important dates for planning applications and follow the progress and check the status of them by using one of these search options below. You can make a comment and view supporting plans, related documents and decisions.

Main application search 

Search for planning applications by entering one of the following criteria only:

  • entering the full reference number
  • entering the location (either the first full line of the address or the street name)
  • pick a ward (to find your ward use our postcode search)
  • undecided - click the tick box to display undecided applications however you may have to use the location, ward, or received dates to refine your search
  • received dates
  • decided dates

Map search 

The map displays planning applications that are currently out to consultation and will allow you to identify the application and view the details, documents and submit a comment.

  • Click on one of the pins and view the information.
  • Zoom into the location.
  • Type in the street name or planning reference number in the search facility.
  • Use the question mark button tool to identify all planning applications within a given radius of an address or location.

Weekly received/decided planning applications

View the planning applications that have been received/decided between dates. 

  • Enter the dates manually or pick from the calendar buttons in the 'Received' fields to display the results required.
  • Enter the dates manually or pick from the calendar buttons in the 'Decided' fields to display the results required.

Note: The applications that will appear are ones that have gone through the registration process and have been found to be a valid application.

Making a comment 

Be aware that comments will be taken into account when the planning application is being assessed. It is accessible to the public and will not be treated as confidential. Please do not provide personal information in your comment.

Submit your comment online using one of the above search options. It's the best and preferred way of making a comment on a planning application.

Submitting a comment online

  • You have up to 3800 characters within the comment box to submit your comment. (If you need more space then please submit a second comment marking it 'continuation').
  • A unique reference number will appear on screen when successfully submitted.
  • An e-mail notification will be sent within a short time period acknowledging the comments and advising you of its unique reference number.
  • An e-mail notification will be sent when the comments are uploaded against the application.
  • When a decision has been made on the application you will receive an e-mail notifying you of the decision.

Submitting a comment by post 

You can post your comments, however please note that we will not be able to acknowledge the comments. When sending your comments by post please ensure your letter has the following information:

  • application reference number
  • name and address
  • telephone number
  • email
  • comments

Then send them to:

Planning Department, Residents Services, London Borough of Hillingdon, Civic Centre, Uxbridge, Middlesex, UB8 1UW.

The plans, drawings and material have been submitted to London Borough of Hillingdon in order to apply for planning permission. They are protected by the Copyright Acts. They are being made available to be viewed for consultation purposes only. Copies must not be made without prior permission of the copyright owner.
