Public transport

As car parking is limited and to avoid disappointment we encourage using public transport.

  • Train - Ruislip tube station is on the Uxbridge branch of both the Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines.
  • Bus - H13 and the 331 bus routes stop close by the Lido and the woods. Two roads, Ducks Hill Road (A4180) and Breakspear Road North, cross Ruislip Woods National Nature Reserve (NNR). The site can also be accessed on foot through the Ruislip Woods NNR.

Plan your visit using Transport for London journey planner.

Ruislip Lido is easily accessible by cycling via accesses on Reservoir Road. The road network surrounding the Lido is a combination of off road routes and quieter residential roads. There are some busier roads around the Lido but routes are available that limit the amount of riding on these.

Search by bus stop code

If available, the code will be located above the timetable at your stop.

Public toilets

There are three sets of public toilets, one by the Waters Edge pub, one next to Willow Lawn station and the other near Woody Bay station.

Lost children

Please supervise and keep a safe eye on children at the lido and agree a recognisable meeting point with them in case they get lost, such as the cafe or Woodland Centre.

Busy beaches can disorientate people especially children which is why we have implemented a wristband scheme for younger children. You write your contact number on the wristband and the child wears it which makes it easier to reunite them with you should they get lost. You can pick up a free wristband from the kiosk, cafe, lido train station and from staff.

Dogs are welcome but please follow the rules below:

  • keep your dog under proper close control at all times
  • put any dog waste in the bins provided or take it home
  • do not let your dog chase the wildlife
  • the beach side area of the Lido is a dog on a lead zone at all times
  • dogs are not permitted on the beach

Dog control orders are applicable at Ruislip Lido and in the woods.

BBQs or fires

BBQs and fires are not allowed anywhere at the Lido or surrounding woods.

The lake

Boating and swimming is not allowed in the lake; there are no lifeguards on site and anyone that enters the water is doing so at their own risk.

The grounds

The use of hover boards and motorised scooters are not permitted within the Lido.
